School Management Committee:
The School Management Committee (SMC) of PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Kohand is a statutory body formed under the provisions of the Right to Education (RTE) Act. It plays a key role in ensuring participatory school governance, promoting accountability, and supporting holistic development of the institution.

Roles and Responsibilities of the SMC
1. Academic Monitoring

2. Preparation of the School Development Plan (SDP)
Identify school needs in infrastructure, academics, and welfare.
Prepare annual and multi-year development plans in accordance with PM SHRI objectives.

3. Ensuring a Safe and Supportive Learning Environment
Oversee safety measures such as clean drinking water, sanitation, boundary walls, and disaster management.

Monitor utilization of school funds and grants.

Protection of Children from Sexual Offences:
The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 aims to safeguard children from sexual abuse, exploitation, and harassment. As per the guidelines of CBSE and the Ministry of Education, PM SHRI GSSS Kohand has constituted a POCSO Committee to ensure a safe and secure environment for all students.
Objectives
To ensure the safety, security, and protection of every child in the school.
To create awareness among students about safe and unsafe behavior.
To prevent incidents of child abuse by ensuring timely reporting and action.
To provide support, counseling, and protection to affected students.
To ensure compliance with the POCSO Act, 2012 and related guidelines issued by the Government.
